New album in the making

After the success of OPUS FEROX: The Great Escape, we have been longing to get back to the world of the Papacy and the Resistance. We have been writing a lot of new songs telling more stories from the same world. Recordings are almost completed and we are aiming for the next part to see the light of day during the fall of 2023.

New Release Date

As you probably all know, vinyls are in high demand. This has unfortunately made the pressing a of our album a bit delayed. The new date for all platforms; digital, CD and Vinyl is set to July 30th. It’s a drag, but it will be worth the wait. Just look at these beauties!

Opus Ferox – The Great Escape

LOCH VOSTOK – The Swedish avantgarde/melo-death veterans are presenting the album title, cover artwork, release date and the entire tracklist of their upcoming eighth album – an album anticipated by a wide variety of fans, amongst others, due to the fact that the band changed their lead singer from the last album to this one.

Always a controversial and daring endeavour, Loch Vostok, however, have managed to secure a smooth and controlled transition from old lead singer (and guitarist) Teddy Möller to the new kid in town, Jonas Radehorn.

And with that transition comes the album “Opus Ferox – The Great Escape”, the band’s 8th album, which is set for release on June 25th through ViciSolum Records.

The album is a manifest of the band’s amazing musical skills but also a tour de force in setting the record straight, when it comes to writing great songs that stick to the mind. With the incredible vocal range of Jonas Radehorn, Loch Vostok have fine-tuned their assets and created their most impressive album so far!

Teddy Möller – guitarist and godfather of the band explains:
“This is our best album” is what every band says every time they release a new album. So, let me just say that the paths we separately walked were predestined to lead to Opus Ferox. Accessible and avantgarde. Aggressive and melodic. A new level. The Great Escape!

The tracklist of “Opus Ferox – The Great Escape” is as follows:

The Freedom Paradox
Enter The Resistance
The Glorious Clusterfuck
Disillusion
Galacticide
When The Wolves Have Eaten Everything
Generation Fail
Seize The Night
The Great Escape
Save You
Black Neon Manifesto (CD only)

The Artwork for the album is a futuristic, gloomy doomsday scenario, created by bassist Patrik Janson – an obvious multi-talent, with both musical and visual finesse. It displays and summarizes to perfection what Loch Vostok tries to convey to the masses.

“Opus Ferox – The Great Escape” will be released on all digital platforms and in 2 different limited vinyl editions. Furthermore, the album will be available on CD, which contains a bonus track that will only be available on that particular medium.

New bass player announced!

After the departure of bass-player Jimmy Mattsson from LOCH VOSTOK earlier this spring, the band has acted fast on the challenge it is to lose a band-member, and have recruited the perfect replacement, namely Patrik Janson (The Murder of My Sweet, Wigelius, ex-Platitude).

Teddy Möller (vocals/guitars) confirms:
“After a long and hard search (not really) for a new bass player we decided for the infamous Patrik (Don Johnson) Janson He has been a Loch Vostok fan for many years and delivered 100% on the audition. Welcome to the band, Pat!”

New video for the track Purpose!

Hey there! We are very excited to present you with a video for the song ’Purpose’ from our latest album Strife. Track was mixed by David Castillo and visuals crafted by the ever great Martin Gustafsson. Dig, share and let us know what you think!

Jimmy has left the building

Our friend, brother and master of the bass Jimmy Mattsson has decided to leave Loch Vostok. The reasons behind his departure is between him and us at this point but we are very sorry to see him go. We had a good run for several tours and albums and we wish him nothing but the best and good luck in his further endeavours.

Here is what Jimmy has to say:

”After careful consideration I have come to the conclusion that it is not doable for me to remain a member of Loch Vostok anymore. The reasons are many but I will not go further into details at this time.

I want to thank Klingwall, Mano, Lawrence and Kupper for the good times we’ve shared, Lars & Intromental, Boss & ViciSolum and also an extra special thanks to Teddy for believing enough in an unknown kid to bring him along for the ride of his life all those years ago.

Fear not. This is not the end for me. There are already plans in motion for the future.”
